Evil is soon set to return to Paramount+ for its fourth and final season. From the looks of the first trailer, it’s going to be another wickedly entertaining time of horror and very dark humor.
Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Andrea Martin, Kurt Fuller and Christine Lahti are all back in the habit (as it were). In the wake of religious horror hitting theaters in the form of Immaculate and The First Omen, you might feel a little worn out on tales of devout Catholics battling the forces of Satan. But Evil has never played by the book.
As I’ve been yammering since season 1, Evil is the hottest show you’re not watching, as it’s basically The X-Files with demons.
Not only does Season 4 promise a new chapter in the will-they-won’t-they of forbidden flirtation between priest-in-training David (Coulter) and married mother-of-four Kristen (Herbers), but it also tempts us with new heinous hijinks from the devilish Leland Townsend (Emerson) and the hot as hell matriarch Sheryl (Lahti). Ben (Mandvi) is talking witches and Sister Andrea (Martin) is getting physical in her battles against Satan! Beyond biblical monsters of the week, Evil is also writing its final book on that insidious IVF arc with “the real horror” of handling an infant — who is likely the anti-Christ.
We’re praying for patience as we wait for the premiere.
Evil will premiere Thursday, May 23 exclusively on Paramount+
