Joe Rogan Refuses to Attend UFC 315 in Canada Because of ‘Terrible’ Government: ‘I’d Rather Go to Russia’ from Mediaite Zachary Leeman

Joe Rogan will be skipping an upcoming UFC fight because of his disdain for Canada’s “terrible” government.

Rogan is a Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) commentator and the host of one of the most popular podcasts in the world, but he will not be providing his services for UFC 315, set for May in Montreal.

“I won’t be there. I don’t go to Canada anymore,” Rogan declared on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

The comedian added with a laugh, “I’d rather go to Russia.”

Rogan noted President Donald Trump’s repeated desire for America to absorb the United States as the 51st state, laughing the possibility off.

“It’ll never happen,” he said.

Rogan has been plenty critical of Canada’s government in the past. On the same JRE episode where he declared he doesn’t visit Canada anymore, the podcaster called the country’s government “terrible,” but praised its people as “awesome.”

“That’s so crazy, [Trump] asked them to be the 51st state. I had a conversation with Trump about it,” Rogan said.

He also saidTrump told him he began calling then-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “Governor Trudeau” for “fun.”

“‘I started calling him Governor Trudeau just for fun, a lot of people are saying it’s a good idea,’” Rogan recalled Trump saying. “Maybe it is a good idea.”

In a February episode of the JRE podcast, Rogan accused Trudeau of pushing Canada toward “legitimate communism,” blasting the country’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and more.

“It’s fucked. It’s on the same patch of land as us. It’s fucked. It just shows you what could happen here if you have the right laws because people like that fuckhead Justin,” Rogan said.
