How to cancel your Spotify Premium subscription from Mashable

Canceling your Spotify Premium account is fairly quick and easy, and you’ll still have access to your music library after cutting the digital cord. Your account will default back to a free one, which mostly means you’ll be hearing a lot more ads, which can range from 15 to 30 seconds.

If you’re on the fence about canceling, Spotify offers multiple payment plans for ad-free listening and you can check out your options for switching Premium plans before outright canceling.

If you’re really ready to ditch Premium, here’s how:

What You Need

Web browser

An internet connection

Step 1:
Navigate to spotify.com/account and log in to your account.

If you wish to cancel a Spotify Family or Duo Premium plan, you must be the plan manager to make these changes.

Step 2:
Under “subscription,” click “cancel plan.”

If there is no option to “cancel plan,” your plan may be managed via a partner company, like your mobile carrier or internet provider. That company’s contact information should be available on the same page, spotify.com/account.

Step 3:
Follow all prompts until it is confirmed that your account is canceled.

You will retain your Premium account features until the next billing date, at which point your account will revert back to a free one. Your playlists and saved music won’t change, but you will hear ads as you listen to them. If you manage a Spotify Family or Duo plan, let your fellow plan members know about the change.
